The Honorable Attorneys

When you consider a lawyer, often we get an image of high-powered guys in flashy fits charging $300 an hour to talk the legal talk that no one understands but other attorneys. And when we get those media pictures of attorneys in our heads, the idea of an attorney who wishes to utilize his or her specialized talent with the law and that extensive education they all have to have to practice law for social work appears practically outrageous.

It’s a great concept in all aspects of life not to let television or movie pictures of anyone impact truth. The reality is there are countless lawyers who went into law for other factors than to make money and run for govt. In every city and town in the country, there are legal representatives who work for very little to protect people who need aid with the legal system and try to get a reasonable stake in a system that appears to reward the wealthy and the influential.

Many of us understand at least a couple of lawyers. To be sure, there seems to be a great deal of them. But if you think of your pals who are lawyers then you will find numerous who have in them a strong sense of neighborhood service and a desire to use the opportunity and education that has been offered to them to benefit society. It is a custom that is visible for centuries in the legal profession. An attorney by definition is one who stands between the people and the federal government to attempt to help those who have been wrongly accused or require a supporter to be dealt with relatively.

That mindset of responsibility to the community is shown in the values of the Bar Association. Part of an attorney’s commitment consists of dedicating a particular quantity of hours to the community to be used as free legal help to those who cannot afford an attorney otherwise.

An average of 50 hours a year is needed for an attorney to continue to be a member of the Bar in excellent standing. Rather than see that as something negative, this reflects the worth of the Bar Association and it sends out a message to anybody who desires to hang out their shingle as an attorney that being in service to the community is urged and important from the greatest levels of the legal profession.

The attitudes of public duty do not just end at the door of the Bar Association building. Many legal representatives provide even more than their minimum requirements in totally free legal service to the community. In every city and town in this country, you can discover attorneys working side by side with physicians, dental professionals, construction individuals and professionals of every description to attempt and help out people who do not have a lot to return but simply require that helping hand.

Let’s set aside our ordinary bias about legal representatives that we absorb from lots of films and television programs that just reveal the bad ones. When we do that we will recognize that legal representatives are good neighbors, good family males, and females, and actually do care about providing back to the neighborhood much like you and I do. Those are truly great attorneys.
